Abby's Halloween Trick Was No Treat!

Abby's Halloween Trick -- No Treat!

Abby is a 3 year old lab mix, she is my special girl and she sleeps on my bed. Now Abby has issues! If another dog looks sideways at her she comes running (and chirping) to me. I am truthful, she makes a sound like a bird chirping. She is now 80 pounds but she tries to get into my lap as though I'll save her. Of course sometimes when she does this she has ulterior motives. She wants the dog bed that is between my chair and my husband's chair in the den where we watch TV. If another dog is on that bed, Abby may pull her "Help me! Help me!" act and the other dog usually gets up and Abby takes the bed. Don't doubt this - dogs are sneaky.

She really outdid herself on Halloween though this year. I got up, started the coffee and went back to the bed to make it up. When I threw the covers back, there on Abby's side of the bed, was a dead rabbit's head. It was perfectly intact, there was no blood or yucky things attached, it was just a rabbit's head that would have looked alive except it was only the head! I screamed! My husband was not at home so I had to take a paper towel, pick up the head and dispose of it and then, of course, change everything on the bed.
